Dear St. Peter's Church Family,

It is our sad duty to inform you of the death of our former

 Associate Priest, Fr. William Dearman.

Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please keep the entire family in your prayers.

But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster,

and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace.

Wisdom 3:1-9

Mary Joyce Dearman

February 22nd, 1940 – February 9th, 2025

Mary “Joyce” Dearman of Peekskill, NY passed away February 9th at NY Presbyterian Hospital Hudson Valley. Devoted wife to Rev. William B Dearman, mother of Ben, Sarah, and Anne. Joyce was the only child of Carl Arthur and Mary Anderson and shared her father’s avid curiosity for science and the natural world. She graduated from the University of Toronto, where she is remembered for her debate skills, advocacy, and keen intellect. Joyce worked for many years in the Field Library children’s room, and was an active member of St. Peter’s Church. She was known for her quiet strength and genuine interest in the lives of others. Mostly, though, Joyce will be remembered for her tender care of children, both in her family and in her community. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Isaac, Dillon, Tessa, Banner, and Emma (Sarah), Brandon (Ben), and Harper (Anne), three great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and extended family who loved her well.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 2 pm at St. Peter’s Church, 137 N. Division Street, Peekskill, NY 10566. In lieu of flowers, please honor Joyce’s memory with a donation to St. Peter’s Church.
A repass will be held after the service in Bell hall, sponsored by Parish Life Activities Committee
