Vestry meeting date changed from Feb. 19 to Feb. 12 due to the Presidents’ Day holiday. The commissioning of the new members will also take place on Sunday the 12^th.

The annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 pm.  Adults $10, children 5-12 $6, children under 5 free.

Inclement Weather Information – Church closings due to inclement weather will be announced on WHUD FM radio station 100.7 and on WHUD.com. If a service or activity is not listed there, then the church event will proceed as scheduled.

We are continuing the recycling of your empty computer printer ink and toner cartridges this year, to help offset our office supplies costs.   Please continue to drop them off in the narthex or the church office. We received $60 in rewards so far this year due to your efforts.

David Grey has been a parishioner of St. Peter’s since the late 1980’s and is currently a member of the vestry for the second time, having served two terms in the early 2000’s. He is also a member of the Properties committee and choir. His wife Sonia and children Courtney and Brian are also parishioners. David would be honored to continue serving on the Vestry.

John Hanley has been a devoted parishioner of St. Peter’s for almost two years along with his wife Linda and son Sean. He has been active in Mission and Outreach’s Third Thursday dinners and Fred’s Food Pantry. He is working with the Properties Committee helping repair the church and gather estimates for new heating systems. He is also on the choir and would like to further serve St. Peter’s by being elected to the vestry.

Rudy Larson has been a member of St. Peter’s for over 16 years along with his wife Rose and youngest son, Ian. He has been active in the Noontime Meals Program and Third Thursday Dinner program. He can often be seen volunteering his time and talents doing plumbing and heating repairs throughout the St. Peter’s properties. Rudy is grateful for the opportunity to continue to share through the ministry of Vestry.

Ellie Moshier has been a member of St. Peter’s for 20 years along with her husband David. She is active as an usher and acolyte and is a member of the Mission and Outreach Committee. For the past three years Ellie has very successfully served as a co-chairman of the fundraising committee for PLAC and would be honored to serve on the vestry.

Doryl Wolfe has been the chairperson of Mission and Outreach for the past three years and has also served as an usher and lector. Having previously served on the vestry in 2003, Doryl is no stranger to doing the business of the church and would love the opportunity to serve again.

Mission and Outreach needs you! The winter months are fast approaching and many members of our community do not have heavy coats to protect them from the cold.  St. Peter’s is hosting a coat drive to address this need. 

New or gently  gently used men’s and women’s large and extra-large coats are needed, no children’s coats, please. Coats can be brought to the church office during office hours or placed in the narthex. Also, Third Thursday Community dinner is in need of three large cakes for the December Christmas dinner. Please call the church office by December 6 if you can help out.      

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to everyone even if you don’t have the time to attend the meetings. Shawls can be created at home on your own time and at your own speed. The Prayer Shawl Ministry offers a warm, soft, hand-knit or crocheted shawl to those that are sick in body or in spirit. Made by members and friends of the parish, the shawls are a way of surrounding the recipient with prayer and the love of the parish family.  If interested in participating, please speak to Ann Roberts or Connie Dyckman. Donations of yarn gladly accepted.

Today’s Adult Education is Indaba: A Conversation Between Three Diocese –  Grab a cup of coffee and join us in the Bar

ham Room for a conversation about the Indaba Pilot Project that Mother Carlye is participating in.  This session will focus on the Anglican Communion and the recent meeting of the three teams in the Diocese of Darby.

Fred’s Food Pantry Shopping List—A great way to help with the pantry is to add items for the pantry to your weekly grocery list and to your holiday preparations. The following three items are always in short supply in the pantry:  1-2 lbs. bags of rice, canned fruit and 100% juices in plastic bottles or cans.
